i have a 1996 f 150 with the 300 6. i can switch back and forth between tanks and feel a power difference so that leads me to beleive my fuel pump is going out. i had it hooked up to a computer and these are the codes that it read. BTW he told me they were reading like this because of the fuel pump. you guys are my second opinion:
PO401 EGR insufficent flow
PO171 System to lean Bank 1
PO174 System to lean Bank 2
PO411 secondary air injection system incorrect flow
PO420( dont know what this one is)
If you guys could help me with this problem(s) i would greatly appreciate it, i just dont understand what they are trying to tell me to fix. thanks a bunch
i didnt know if it was all fuel related, thats why i didnt put it there. also i cant be the only one who this has happened to, so i put it in the general area, so people with this kind of truck could help me out. if it sounds rude i dont mean it to be, just in need of some help.

The P0420 code is Catalyst system efficiency below threshold(cylinder bank no.1). Haynes publishes a Techbook (#10205) Computer Codes. Bought one at Advance Auto Parts for sixteen bucks. Has some good ideas in it, but is not a clear cut fix for code problems. I have searched the NET extensively for a comprehensive explanation of codes and haven't found one. Haynes also publishes one on Emissions, too. They do tell you how to check some components. Sorry I can't be more help.
