Hooking up a tachometer?
I am trying to hook up a tachometer in my 72 Ranchero. I just got a tach that came out of a 85 Mustang. The back of the tach has three posts: "G" "B" and "C". Where do these go? I am guessing that "C" is for Coil, and "G" is for Ground, but what about "B"? Also, does that coil connection go to the '+' or '-' coil side? Thanks for your help!

The "G" is Ground, The "B" is battery pos (best if you don't have another separate wire for the light inside the Tach to put The "B" wire to a fused connection that is hot when switch is ON, "C" is to the Coil on the "Dist" or NEG side. At least thats how I hooked up mine in my 66 F100 that I took from an old Mustang in a salvage yard and it works. Hope it works for you
