Need Help ASAP!!!!!!

Hello, I have a 1988 Ford Bronco 2 2.9l 4wd and I am currently having a problem with it. Whenever I start off in 1st gear I will hear a screeching noise and then thud I stop. I put the rear end on jacks and took the covers off the drums. The left side was a lot harder to get off then the right. After doing this i did not notice anything out of the unusual so i put everything back together and put the car in gear to go. It continued to do the same thing when staring off it would not move, but when in reverse it would. I noticed the only the left tire was moving so after messing around with it I noticed whenever I put the Parking break on the right side would go and both tires would spin. I did not try the same thing in first gear yet but i will. If anybody has any advice it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

The difficulty getting the drums off is probably normal wear for drum brakes. A lip forms that makes it difficult to remove the drum.
Any sense of where the power flow is stopping? transmission? rear end? how about the driveshaft? When the stock CV joints on the driveshaft go, they sometimes will just spin.
