well on my bronc same problem and when i took off the light switch i noticed that the plastic thing that the switch connected to was melted so i didnt get a good connection, i havent fixed it yet but i think a pick a part would have what i need. have you checked your switch?
its a pain to get to. theres a release button on the headlight switch itself. you have to move the dash as much as possible and get to it with like a hook tool or a screw driver. once you get the button the **** comes right out and your all set
Might want to check the wiring for the tailights under the bumper for a short if you keep blowing fuses. I had this problem, and found a wire was touching the rear leaf springs and burnt thru. Would blow a fuse whenever I stepped on the brakes!!!
You replied to a post I wrote about the headlight **** release. I cant find the release that you wrote about. I can move the dash cover enough to see very well in there, but there is nothing that could be pushed in or out.
What year is your bronco? Mine is an 86, and i guess they are different.
Groove cut into **** itself is for removing **** only, insert 90 degree pick and pull release metal tab while pulling **** with other hand- stem can only be removed with headlight on (pulled out)lMy Ford dealership stocks the new aftermarket plug(with wires) NEVER INSTALL NEW HEADLGHT SWITCH INTO A BURNT PLUG!!!If you can't get a new plug- remove bad wire terminal and drill hole through burnt plastic, put a new wire(after extending wire) terminal and plug into switch through hole you drilled(or HOLES) HINT-Alot of aftermarket radios installers used to tie ground wire to dash light wire as it tests as a ground with headlights off. Pull headlights on and pops fuse every time!!!! might be worth a look.
