E150 Econoline VAN 5litres V8
My van starts up. Then the rpm's go up and down till she stops. The only way to keep her running is holding the gas pedal down. As soon as I take my foot of, she quits.
Has somebody any hints where to look for?

The solenoid is the IAC. (Idle Air Control) It can be removed and cleaned with throttle body cleaner. It cannot be adjusted. That could be the problem. Another suspect would be the TPS. (Throttle Position Sensor) First, as EPNCSU2006 says, pull the codes. How long since tuneup?
