need to reset a computer need help

does anybody know how to reset the computer on a 99 ford truck do i have to diconnect the batery or is there a easyer way thank you

Disconnect the battery for 15 min.

Hey.
You can have autozone scan for codes. then do a clear, or reset as you would put it.

on my 96 tbird there is a fuse in the underhood fusebox labled EEC, pull this then crank the car, then replace it.

That will reset the eec.

I'm not sure if the trucks have a similar deal, but if they do then this is alot faster than getting out the tools to disconnect the battery.

Resetting the codes with a scanner will not totally reset the PCM. It lose power to clear the driving habits that it has learned. Either by removing a fuse or unhooking the battery.
