fan controls?

o.k.,i know that some of you are going to get a good laugh out of this question, but i`m going to ask it anyway.i have`nt owned my truck long and i`m still trying to figure it out.i just learned how to lock the doors(while inside)a couple of days ago.anyway,i just realized that if i pull the fan **** out that it closes something in the airbox.well, i`m not comepletely in the dark here,i`m sure that one position is for heat and one for air.but since i have a leak around the heater hoses by the firewall i shut the heater valve on the intake.so could someone tell me which position is for heat and which one is for air?also my **** is broken, where could i pick up a replacement?

hand, You have missed this one big time. The multifuntion switch is for heat only. Air is controled over by the door handle. When pulling out the heater (only) control you allow air to be pulled in across the heater core, and by twisting, the 2 heater speeds. The lever on the box itself controls defrost and floor air flow.

I know what pulling out the fan **** does!

I have a '65 F250 and it has the same heater that you have. We have the deluxe fresh air heater. When you pull out the fan ****, it opens the defrost vents. You have to have the heater on before the defrost will work though.

Hope this helps you.
