My automatic has a hard shift between 2nd. and 3rd. gears when I am going uphill. (My first PSD also 1999 did not do this) Is this normal? I have not towed with it yet, next month and most of the summer will be towing fifth wheel. I ask this question now as my factory warranty expires in late August.

My 99 was doing the same thing but under load. I had 92K miles and the dealer replaced the exhaust backpressure sensor. The problem went away. Something worth checking anyway, hope it helps.
