Front end noise
Hello everyone. I'm new here. I have an f-150, 2x2, v-6 (1997). The upper and lower balljoints were recently replaced along with the outer tie-rod. A squeaking noise is still present. Sounds like rubber on metal. Does anyone have suggestions to what might be my problem? Thanks, ftdriver.

A squeaky noise in the suspension can be from the rubber bushing for your shocks or just about anything in the suspension with rubber parts. One test is to open the hood and bounce it while listening. I lie down NEAR the front and listen while one of my sons bounce it. I figure if I get under it they might get to entusiastic in their bouncing. Squeaks are a pain to find.
I had a GM product that squeaked in the A-frame bushings. Older Fords get squeaks from the coil spring rubber isolators going south.

Sounds like probably the pitman arm. Lay under the truck and have someone turn the wheel back and forth while you listen and feel. Quite often you can feel which joint is making the noise. It will sort of vibrate as it squeeks.
