I have a 1985 F150 xlt EFI. I was wondering if EFI mustang injectors will fit the truck efi. Iam looking for a little more grunt for the old girl. thanks
I can tell you that mustang injectors are high impedance 19lb/hr injectors. Cobras have 24 lb injectors. What I don't know is what came stock in your truck. That is also what I'm trying to find out about my dad's truck.
Also, your ECM is calibrated to work with the stock injectors. If you install injectors that flow more or less than stock, then you will get more or less fuel flow than the computer expects. That wont be good. you will have to adjust fuel pressure to try and compensate. I would install new injectors if you thought the old ones were bad but I would definately install new ones with the same flow rate as the stock ones.. Also, I think your truck is a speed density system which is even less tolerant of mods than a mass air system.
Hope that helps,
Eddie
