I'm looking at a super clean '01 F-350 Lariat, auto, 4x4, dually, fifth wheel, crew cab, 7.3l psd with 175,000 miles.
[145,000 miles were put on in the past 19 months?! - per a car research report]
They are asking $19k
So, is think this a good deal?
I'm really worried about the mileage . . . this is my first diesel.
I don't mean to sound nasty but YOU are the only one that can decide if that truck is worth the money to YOU. But it does not sound like a great deal to me. I just gave 25,500 for an 02 XLT ex-cab long bed, 4+4, 2-tone, tinted windows, with a Goose neck in the bed, very nicely equiped 7.3 PSD.
Ok, I agree I have to make the decision on worth.
I'm most concerned about the mileage. By reading this forum it seems that the engine should be good for at least another 200K?
What about the rest of the truck are there things I should be wary of?
I got a '99 f-350 Lariat SC/SB, PSD with 105,000 miles on it last November for $12,000; a deal I couldn't pass up. I wouldn't be too worried about the miles. If the truck has been well maintained it would be worth it. See if you can find any history on it; what was all involved in the car research report that would affect it's performance and stuff like that. Keep looking around at similar trucks and see what the asking price is and compare them, that's what I do when looking for new vehicles or equipment. If you think it's worth the $19,000 then go for it!
