Just the other day I was out of town to a consignment auction. Before going home stopped at the ford dealership. Was looking at new superduty with the 6.0 powerstroke. This particular dealer also sells Dodge and chevys across the street from the ford dealer. I was asking some questions about the new 6.0 when the guy I was talking to said this is Duramx country around here. Well excuse me I am over here at the ford dealership not across the street. Maybe needed to sell more duramaxes or himself a big G.m. fan. I don't know. That was sure the wrong approach with me. I decided not to go back at that dealership again. His remarks did that. Next time Ill deal directly with a ford dealer only involved in fords. That guy definitely needs a lesson in how to deal with people. Those first impressions with a salesman make the difference with me I think withy most people to.
My computer cut out on me before i could finish the last post. Another dealer where I have bought 4 pickups really treated me right.I have never have been disappointed. Maybe got rimmed some but really went out of there way to please. Those first half hour with that salesman makes or break it with me. How about every body else out there. What do you think. Thanks
I have it easy then. My dad does all of his business with one dealership. Personnal vehicles, business trucks are all done thru the same guy, who is the head sales manager and part owner. I called him up told him what i wanted and what was the best offer he could offer to a normal buyer and then got the business deal of a $1000 off. My truck was built this week too.
Floor salesmen? Don't talk to 'em myself, waste of time. Key to buying a vehicle is to know exactly what you want and exactly what you are willing to pay for it before setting foot on the lot for your appointment with the fleet/internet guy they have stuck in the shed back behind the service department.
I am amazed at some of sales methods used at dealerships. We live one mile from a Ford A-nation and we walked out of the place, when the next guy up the line took over from the saleman.
This guy was in a league of his own. Then with two phone calls we purchased a new Ford truck from Palatka Ford. It was one of the best buying experiences I have ever had. I believe that dealing with a small town locally owned dealer results in a more friendly and better deal alot of the time.
Don't even get me started. Worst bunch of criminals I've ever had the displeasure of working for. 6 months and I quit. Was so disgusted that I actually left the car business altogether for 2 years. Thank God my current boss came along, or I'd still be developing an ulcer trying to make people happy with their over-priced furniture!
Yeh some people think instantly they will get a good deal at a mega dealer. There out to mke money too. Dont forget the small dealer. Give him a try you might be surprised. I know of one dealer in my state thats been around for get this 95 years.Same family owned 4th generation dealer. There some real big dealers around his area too. The dealer itself has treated people right and has a good reputation. Always sells agood amount of vehicles every year. Probably several generations of families have bought from yhis dealer. Know what your price is shop around. Give the small guy a shot.
That is exactly why I deal only with one dealer. There is a mega dealer in the Phoenix area and it is the biggest dog and pony show that I have ever seen. They tried the hard sell on me and that goes as far as the s lot. They tried to pressure my wife and myself into the “Super-de-duper” deal and I was not having any of it and left. As I was leaving, this “individual” has the Gaul to state “you could not afford it anyways”. Oh, wrong thing to tell me as I told him as I was leaving. I will NEVER go back to this dealer and neither will anyone that I know.
I deal with one salesman from the dealership that my parents have bought 15 cars from. It is amazing that I get the best deal and have great customer satisfaction. I also drive 50 miles to get to this dealership and pass four others and they know that.
