97 Ranger 4.0 Engine Compatibility

What year 4.0 engines will work in a '97 Ranger other then a '97? I'm looking for easy plug and play installation, minimal wiring changes.

Also does anyone have a good source for used/rebuilt engines? Email me.

I would believe anything after 95 would be of good use to you.

try car-part.com and that will tell you what years match up for sure as well as (obviously) who has a 4.0L for you.
