Well I got the call that my new tires came in today!! 305/70-16 BFG All Terrains! So I went up to the tire shop and had them mounted and balanced on my new Eagle 589 16x8 wheels! Man these things look GOOOOOD!!! Too bad I can't put them on my truck!! It turns out that no one stocks the size lug nuts I need for my Superduty!! 14mm x 2.0 must be a dumb size - I ran around to like 5 places and none anywhere! SUCK!! So now I've got to look at these nice new tires and wheels sitting in my shop until my ordered lug nuts come in.
Anyone else run into this?? A couple places had 14mm x 1.5 but not the 2.0 thread. I guess I should have known better than to not order lugs with the wheels.
Would have thought these were common place by now, since they are supposed to be the same on all Sterling equipped SD trucks since '99 ( ) Surprised your tire shop that sold you the goodies doesn't have such in stock.
Post pics so we can all drool all over your wheels while they're still shiny new...
FINALLY FOUND MY LUGS!!!!! After lots of phone calls and running around I got my lugs and I'm headed out to bold the new boots on. I ended up getting 16 lug nuts at one shop and then running another 20 miles to another place for another 16!! It was worth it though - so I'm off to bolt on some more fun stuff!!
Note: It seems '99 to some time in '02 the lugs are 14 x 2.0 and then Ford in their infinite wisdom changed them some time in '02 to a 14 x 1.5 lug. That's why I could find the 1.5 thread count but not the 2.0!! Anyhow - that's my new information to me for the day!
Yea I know - not yet.... I don't have a camera and my truck is REALLY dirty. I'm gonna wash it up this weekend and I'll take some pictures with my friends digital camera and get them on here - promise!
