Relay for remote power lead

I understand what wires go where on a relay that controls multiple remote power leads but I have a few questions:

1) For the 12 v wire, you are suppose to use a fuse - what size fuse should you use? I have 2 amps that will be run from it. Total watts is 450 watts

2) Where do you tie in the 12 v wire? From the fuse box?

3) Where is a good place to put the relay in the new 2004 F150?

Any advise would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do? Are you talking about the actual 12V power for the amps or the the remote turn on wires so the amps turn on with the stereo? Are you using the factory HU or aftermarket? I've never heard of needing a relay for just two amps, but I"m not an expert. Maybe some more details would help.

Basically what I am asking is where does the 12v wire come from. Do you connect it directly to the battery, or can you run it from a constant 12v from the fuse box. This is the 12v wire only going to the relay not the amps. And yes, its for the remote turn on leads.

I have been told that it is not essencial that you use a relay with only 2 amps but you can never be to careful. I am using an after market head unit. JVC KD-SH909 head unit.

I guess it would be easier to get power from the fuse box for the relay, but I've never heard of this being done. I always run the remote wire from one amp to the other and have never had any problems. Some of the more experienced guys here can probably help you out more. Good luck with your install!

you don't need a relay for just 2 amps. i just split my remote lead and ran to each amp and i've had no problems with it.
