tune up?
Could you guys give me some suggestions about what type of maintenance is needed on my 01 Supercrew 4x4. It has 40K miles and I am the second owner and have done nothing but regular maintenance. It runs great with no problems except recently I have smelled some burning like oil or maybe trans fluid after hauling. I need to know if there are any major projects I need to do at this point and in the near future. I have no idea what was done to the truck prior to my ownership. I bought it with 23K on it. Thanks guys.

Check the right hand side of the motor by the starter, see if you have an oil leak. If there is, the head gasket is leaking. Depending on the trans, If you have a 4r100 you should service the trans otherwise just regular maintenance. You also might consider a fuel filter.

good news, no oil leak on the rt side by the oil filter. the only fluid i could see was on the left front by the power steering i think. not much and i dont think that is where the burning smell was coming from. (Any ideas on what that might be.) I have not noticed any more smells lately. maybe it went away. I am going to check on the type of transmission and then change the fluid.
