What is the top attainable speed on a stock V10 (in a 250/350 4x4)? How about a motor that has been chipped? I am not a speed fanatic, but this engine must have some impressive potential...

This is a moot question,Dan, for two reasons:
1. The computer limits top speed to ~95mph. And, while a Superchip will remove that limitation, and
2. The LT tires will disintegrate (and probably kill both you *and* you Super Duty)long before you reach top speed that the engine could produce. I don't know of a high-speed LT tire. If anyone does, please let me know.

95 is it with the ford, however my 96 dodge V-10 would top out at 112 mph.
I bought a Superchip for my 98 5.4 4x4 and it did nothing, took it out and it is sitting in the garage. Turns out they are pretty useless with the 5.4. I just bought an Excursion with the V-10, love that engine...did the Superchip make that big a difference when you installed it in the engine..and which wrapper(vehicle) do you have with the V-10? Thanks for the info
in a '02 4x4 with the V8 the goviner won't let you do more that 97.5 so set the cruse control at 95. BTW the highway is long, straight, and deserted in northern Maine. Chevys go to 100 but the govener shuts the whole truck off, Ford just wont let you go any faster.
My 1999 V-10 will do well over 100mph. I used my hypertech programmer to remove the governor. It takes longer to get over 100 with 20" rims and 33" tires, but with the factory 265/75R16 sized Dueler Revo's it gets to 100 quick. The needle goes down past 100 slowly, then at about 115mph the needle drops to the bottom of the instrument panel and is pegged there. If you are going even slightly down hill, it gets going faster than one wants to go in a 7000# truck. I've probably gone a little over a buck twenty.
My cousin is a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio and he was telling me a story about a chase he was involved in with a F250 V10 that was supercharged. Not sure what all else was done with the truck, but he said the truck was paced and clocked at speeds of up to about 135-140. The guy eventually blew the tires out because they couldn't handle the speed. The worst part from what he told me is the guy driving the truck was drunk, and it wasn't even his truck, it was his brothers...and it still had temp tags.
BF Goodrich lists a GForce T/A KDW LT325/55R22D Service Code 120H. I think that is a 36x12.5 with a load rating of 3086 lbs and speed rating of 130mph. A SD would look kinda funny with a lift to clear the tires and a tread pattern that looks likes it belongs on a Cobra but it sure could be fun.
