I've had my new Lariat for about a week now, and I noticed a big delay in the gas pedal. I mentioned it to my dealer and he said, "Oh yeah, the throttle body needs to be changed, we've had 2 other 2004 f-150s done this week." Has anyone else heard of this? Is there a recall?
There are some posts on this forum about replacing the throttle body but I don't think it was related to a delay or hesitation in the pedal.
I experienced some delay (or dead spots) for the first few hundred miles but it seems to have improved dramatically. It may be that the computer had to adjust. I'd still like a quicker response but to me it feels like the normal delay with an automatic transmission. That's why I normally drive a standard. Unfortunately it was not offered on the 2004.
