93 E150 5.0L mods

I have a 93 E150 van with a 5.0L non AFM motor. I need a little more power for when I am loaded down, and towing. As of now, all I have done is a K&N replacement filter, and bumped the bace timeing up a few deg. Is there much more I can do without messing up the computer? Should I swap to an AFM system, and if so, how much mods can that take? Is there a cheap way to swap to AFM? Should I just chip my old computer? Thanks for any help you can give me. Worked on carb motors for years, this is my first try at FI mods.

How about some lower gears in the rear axle (numerically higher)?

Well you could free up the exhaust, headers (longtube) or otherwise. There are cams out there that would work fine. Give crane cams or comp cams a call, let them know you have efi, they will give you a cam that has 114 lobe seperation, so as to not disrupt your stock computers understanding. good luck

been thinking of hedders. Have not seen any for the vans though. Sick of the cracked manafolds, might as well get more HP when I replace them.
