After 150,000 miles on my Bronco II it is time for a clutch replacement. Is there any gaskets that is required when I replace it. Any tips you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks
A gasket for between the t-case and transmission extension houseing and one for the shifter housing, but RTV silicon will work just fine.
I've heard of people pulling the transmission with the exhaust in place, but I'm not sure how they managed if they were at stock height. My exhaust came off without much difficulty, but there are a couple of gaskets there that would need replacing.
I did mine last yearand found no gasket on the transfer case just RTV. I didn't remove the exhaust but then I still had the stock system and no way to replace it as I was out on a job site and I am at stock hieght. It's a little bit harder but really not that much more difficult. You can remove the transmission and the transfer case as one unit but it's really difficult and unless you have the right equipment I would seperate them. I got my clutch from NAPA and it came as a complete unit including the pilot bearing and trowout bearing.
