Knocking noise

Knocking noise
I had to repear a ghole in my gear box ( i think it was my gear box) After fixing it I started to drive and now it makes a kinda popping noise when i start moving. I hav eknow clue as to why it is happening. Any help would be great.

Was the hole in the transmission? T-case? Differential?
If you busted a hole in it (whatever it is) then you could have pushed the broken piece into the "box".
Don't drive it...get it to someone who can help before you do some serious damage.

There wasn't much of a hole it was more like a crack. It was on the plate in the middle of the rear axle. I drove maybe 100 feet after I found out I had got a hole. I welded it close and refilled it with gear lube.
