What would be good for a stock F150 running stock tires and suspension? I do some gravel and logging trail driving, and a lot of on road driving, I want something that will keep my truck, a working truck, but still be able to hit the trail
Bilsteins, Ranchos. all depends on what you want to pay for. Cheap but good replacements go with Ranchos, better replacements, Bilsteins but more money.
It's a pretty basic un-bolt, replace and re-bolt operation. You may find you need both metric and standard wrenches/sockets to get it done. Mine were mixed.
If you drive gravel roads, logging trails or any roads with expansion joints, go with the Ranchos. RS9000X if you ca nafford them, RSX a bit cheaper. I have used RS5000's for 20+ years, never broke one. 1,000,000 mile warranty, too. They are stiff, meaning that they do not allow the truck to bounce up and down when goin over a bump.
