fuel guage probs
hi me again!!! i have no manual for this truck and cant seem to fin done over here in england,
anyway my fuel gauge does not work??? my truck hjas the twin tanks well did , the front one has been removed to fit a lpg tank so it only has rear petrol tank, the only wire i can find cut are the ones to fron tank and at the switch in dash the power to the front tank fuel pump, SO.... if i switch to front tank the guage reads well over full (even thought not connectd??) if i switch to rear tank it reads empty with ignition on but quarter of a tank when switched off??
coolant temp gauge also reads abou quarter when ignition off and zero when running,
the fuel senders usually work on a varible resistance to earth so if disconnected would read empty and when earthed would read full (well on most uk spec cars anyway) anyone got any ideas for me

These truck are notorious for fuel guage problems. The rear tank guage on my '92 quit about 6 years ago. I just keep up with the mileage. Fix the guage if you ever have to do new fuel pumps.
