Ok guys i have some dove c heads that my buddy is porting and polishing what i need to find out what size valves should i run im going to put in a comp extreme 4x4 cam 278h there older one they changed the lifts a little 564 in 574 ext this is for a mudbogger right now the moter is a 85 truck block bored 30 over running flat top pistons with fly cuts for the valves i also want to go with roller rockers i know that i need guide plates and harden pushrods just a little lost on which one's to get
thanks for any help
I have the same heads with manley 2.25 intake and 1.94 exhaust valves I also had the heads reworked for 1.73 ratio b.b. chevy roller rockers from comp cam with crane hardened push rods, guide plates and a 292 comp cam you may want to keep an eye on your valve to piston clearance with with this set up. I went with stock style trw forged pistons but had the heads c/c'd for 9.5:1 compression. this is a great set up, sure made the engine breathe better and still use pump gas. i did upgrade a while back to some scj exhaust manifolds and this really livened things up. good luck

i run 2.19, 1.72 valves in my motor and it runs to 7000 rpm with no problem. have k.b flat tops, block zero deck, heads milled .040, harland sharp 1.8 int. and 1.73 exh. rockers
i use arp studs and prefer harland sharp rockers, since he originally desighned the roller rocker, studs about $30.00 and rockers around $205.00 through summit. make sure to check pushrod length, i had to go with scj length,8.650 for correct geometry.
