I had this problem with my 78 Bronco as well, but
While driving my 86 F150 and hit a pothole , crack in the road etc, I get a thump in the front suspension. It sounds a little like metal hitting metal but muffeled.
The bushings springs and shocks seem to be in good condition.
What am I missing here and is it detrimentel to get repaired immediatly?
check the radius arm bushings....and check the rivets that hold on the radius arm bracket. somtimes they get loose and you can her the bracket moving around
To check the radius arms, you have to loosen them up, it can be damaged or wore out where you can not see from just looking up, also radius arms them selves may be wore, then can get a groove in the top where the bushings meet.
