i got a broken speedometer on a 1992 f-150. what might be some problems? how could i fix it?

when i bought it, it had a broken speedometer and i don't get my license for another week so i will have enough time to fix it. just not sure how. so if someone could please let me know what could be some possible problems. thanks

 

which tranny do you have? Your 92 probably has a speed sensor in the differential housing,on the top just to the left of center.Make sure it is connected by a 2 wire connector that plugs on to it.Pull the codes and see what comes up.
