F100 three on the tree problem

F100 three on the tree problem
I have a 1970 Ford F100 6cyl straight with 3 on the tree shifting.
Apparently shaft in the steering column with the little grooves on it is worn and i cant shift into 1st or 3rd..need a new one.

what is this piece called and where can i find one?

An entire steering column would be a better option. You may be able to find one in the Classified section here or a boneyard.

Ya I would check my local bone yard for one in good condition!!

Sounds like the one you have..has had one to many power
shifts go thru it?? LOL!! Good Luck Russ!!!
