torque con question

torque con question

i am wondering wich torque converter to buy , and thaught i would cime here for your opinions. it will be for a c6 trany 410 gears 429eng with crane cam dur @50 226 230 adv dur 288 - 292 , 112 lobe sep , lift 522- 530 . stealth int, 850 dp , headers port polishied dove heads, 2500 lb mud buggy i was thinking a 3000 stal b&m what do you think.? i will be mud racing 95% of the time but would also like to drive it ocasoinaly on trails

That seems like quite a bit of stall, since you plan on driving it on trails as well. I would give B&M or TCI support a call and see if they can make any recommendations for you. Also check with the guys in the tranny forum, plenty of smarter than I folks in there.

I'm right there with ya, Tess. 292 adv duration on my cam. I relied on my builder to pick the converter for me (my bad) and he "guessed" way off! Still haven't replaced it yet, but I intend to. This is what the TCI website says about it:

3000 rpm also seems high to me I would like the 2600 instead.
