ford flathead tranny

I'am looking for a modern close shift ratio 4 speed tranny to bolt up to a '49 merc flathead. I was told some dodge trannys will bolt up without adapter plates. If a plate is needed , who sells them?

Check with Hot Rod & Custom Supply. I think they have an adapter to mate a 49 flathead engine and 65-up Ford or Mercury transmission...plus lots of other neat things for flatheads. Don't know about the Dodge trannys.
