I bought new Kenwood excelon speakers for my truck and i went to circuit citty and bought speaker wire
The speakers peak output is 220 watts with a rms of 2-55watts. What guage wire should i have got. i bought 16 gauge is that fine does it matter if the wire is to big
i have speaker cable from a friends father that produces and maintains machines that make cable any sort of cable, so i was hooked up with a spool of the biggest baddest speaker cable .... BUT it is almost too big for the terminals on my amp and it was a major pain getting them through the grommets/hoses that run into the door panels from the interior 16 ga would probably be an ideal size
Generally, the biggest possibe wire size that will fit the terminals of your speakers and amp is great, but will not always produce more/better sound than a slightly smaller size. 16 gauge should be more than adequate for you.
