tranny noisy????
Hi,
Im pretty sure i have the m5od tranny. Its a 5 speed. I had brought it to the shop a few months ago and got a new clutch disk and slave cylinder and hose. Probablem is im still grindind 1st and 2nd gear. If im going the proper speed for each gear then it feels like it grinds but not really noisy. Im sure every part was changed but the master cylinder. They didnt touch it. I replaced the plastic bushing on the push rod and nothing. I have bled it numerous times. Maybee the master needs replacing? Maybee a syncro is gone in the tranny? Are those hard to replace by your self? If i dont have a tranny jack is there something else i could use?
Next problem is ever since the shop did all this work i can here something rattling while in gear. Sounds like something is loose. I dont want something to fall apart. Any ideas on that. I took the rubber inspection plug off the tranny and had someone push the pedal. I can see about 1-2 inches of travel. So that all sounds normal to me. The rattling noise is very loud and is definetly coming from the tranny.In my truck i can move the shift boot and see the tranny. So you can imagine how easy it to hear every little noise. The shop charged me $1100 Cdn and didnt guarintee there work. Its a small shop (tire shop) and i dont think the mechanic was a day older 21. Im pretty sure he isnt a certified mechanic. I feel ripped off and it feels like **** to have to pay up to another shop again. I try to do everything myself now. Thanks for all the help.
