I am getting rid of the keyless entry....getting a alarm installed saturday.....I cannot believe that a truck sold in 2003 has no anti-theft device....There was a option on my truck called "advanced security group" cost $320 all it does is give drivers door priority and the dome light come on when the doors are unlocked....

do you want to sell me the parts to make mine a keyless entry?
It is a control box receiver and the remotes?
Let me know what you want for it.

I got the factory install kit and after looking at the 300+ page installation manual I gave up.

I am having the dealer install it for $100.

The 2 meg .pdf I have for the Ford accessory keyless says it is good for 2002 and up, so I guess the answer is a resounding no.

Its NOT a plug and play deal... I bought the gold system that had keyless/autostart/security...

It was the same type of install as if I had bought a viper system off of the shelf...

XLT had Power door locks standard NOT remote...

What amazed me about the ford system is I bought it thinking that it would be more of a plug and play deal and come with FORD labeled transmitters etc... But basically it comes with generic transmitters and was a splice in deal..System works nice and the Place that installs them for the dealer did a great job...BUT in retrospect knowing what I know now I would have bought a VIPER system which would have been Less money...better security... and had remotes with a 2 mile distance and LCD display telling you vehicle status etc and allowing you to start vehicle from up to 1 mile away with confirmation...

If I were just doing keyless Id save my money and buy the 29 dollar Bulldog keyless system and be done with it..

Its simular to installing a remote start system, we just did one here for one of my customers and it was simple for our remote start installer to do

I done the $29.00 thing myself. It was pretty easy and it all fit under the switch panel in the door. No wires to run, did all the hook up right there and it works great. Took less than an hour to install.
