According to the Chilton manual I have, there's a tap on the fuel rail where you can connect a pressure guage. My problem is very intermittent, so I can't really hook up a guage and check it one time. I need to have the guage mounted in the cab so I can keep an eye on the fuel pressure over time...
I'd like to have a sensor that I can connect to this tap and then run a pair of wires into a guage mounted in my cab.
A google or Yahoo search for fuel pressure sensor just gives me way too many hits to search through (lots of aircraft & marine stuff). I was hoping some of you might know of something off hand...
The only electronic setup they have for fuel pressure is $200... That's waaaaaaaay beyond what I have in mind...
They've got mechanical gauges in the $30 range, but those have to be mounted in the engine compartment because you don't want high pressure fuel lines running into my cab...
I looked all morning, and for some reason, it doesn't look like anybody makes what I want. It seems like all you'd need is a little sensor for $15-$20 and a gauge for another $10 - but like I said, the only thing they have is $200...
Yes I have... I get an EGR Position Sensor error. I'm pretty sure that the EGR system is my actual problem, but I would still like to keep an eye on my fuel pressure just to be sure...
The tap and schraeder valve are right there, and it would be a really simple installation since I've already got a path through the firewall. There's really nothing to this, but nobody seems to make a low-cost sensor/guage combination..
