I don't know why the change but I do know MLM means Multi-Level Marketing. Amway is multi-level marketing.

With all the Amsoil bashing on this forum I'm surprised there's 3 ads for Amsoil on the left side of this page.

BTW...before I get accused of being involved with Amsoil I use Mobil 1.

Either I am half blind or Amsoil has infected your computer because I don't see one (let alone three) Amsoil ads on the side of this page or the Oil and Lube Forum opening page, nor on the FTE home page.

Yes, there are Amsoil ads for those of us that dont pay. As long as merchants pay to advertise so that I can use this site for free, I have no problem with that. Amsoil itself was never the issue, it was the "stealth" selling within posts.

Amsoil is not advertising on FTE and we will never knowingly take on an Amsoil dealer as an advertiser.

What you are seeing are Google Adwords. Notice the ad box says "Ads By Google". Google rotates ads in and out of that box based on matching up with the content of the page being displayed. For instance, if you go to the Lightning pages you'll find Ford dealers and auto shopping sites. Even the advertiser has no control over where the ad is displayed.

Because there are literally hundreds of thousands of such ads displayed here daily, there's no way we can catch all of them. Whenever I see something I don't want, I put it in the Google filter list --- the problem is Google will only allow two hundred filters and they have 10s of thousands of advertisers.

As to whether Amsoil dealers would advertise here.... they try to do it all the time for free. That's why Amsoil dealers are not welcome.

I'll be checking out the oil pages here and will ad the Amsoil dealers to the Google filter.

It looks like the google adds are pimping all the "independant" Amsoil dealers who sell from their home. I did a google search and came up with 276,000 hits! Like the common cold, I doubt there will ever be a cure!

dear mr webmaster and mr horsepulleryour ,your hatred of amsoil bothers me.its one thing to limit amsoil dealers from posting, but its not right to try to stop them from having adds on google. today i see adds for motul, mobil 1, top oil. why does it matter with company pays for adds. no i am not a amsoil dealer, i am just a person bothered by some of the self righteous attitudes that i see on this site
