Has anybody put a custom sound system into their 04 F150 Supercrew? If so, have you put subwoofers under the back seats.. I would like to know the specs of your sound system.. size and type of subs, amp, speakers and head unit. And pictures of head unit and subs would be good too. I just need to get an idea of what i can put into my truck becuase i just need a new head unit and my sound system would be complete, i just want to see how other peoples head units look.
On another note, I would like to suggest that you change your signature to read 4x2 instead of 2x4. The first relates to vehicles, the second to wood. I made the same mistake/oversight.

I love my audiophile...wouldn't change it for any aftermarket system. Seamless imported stock systems look the best and the sound from the audiophile is phenominal.
I got my sound system at Tweeter (Not sure if you have one where you are from). They can be a bit pricey, but they do a very professional job. Specs: I have a Pioneer in dash DVD CD player with Pioneer 6 disc changer. Took out the stock speakers and replaced them with MB Quarts. Tweeter was able to custom build a sub box to fit under the back seat. JL audio 10' sub. Eclipse 4 channel amp and a JL audio amp to power the sub. I also had dyno mat installed in all four doors to improve sound and reduce any rattling.
I should post some pics of my truck and sound system sometime this week.
Fordguy is right on. Audiophile rocks!! My local dealer has some lady ordering trucks and was not ordering anything with much diversity. I could not find a single truck with Audiophile (sub system). My sales guy could not understand why I was going to hold out for a truck with it until a special order came in with it ($545). It blew him away. I ordered my truck and am very happy. After market stuff is spendy and unless you have a top notch installer, you will have troubles down the road.
True, there are some real hasher installers out there but if you have patience and and a little knowledge, you can install a nice system that won't give you fits and will sound better. Granted, the Audiofile is one of the best stock systems I have ever heard. But I like a bit more low-end attack from my subs . Two tens in sealed boxes do rather nicely. You're not going to get what I want for the price tag of the Audiofile but you don't have to mortgage your house to get it either. By the way, have you heard the stock system in the new Volvo wagon/SUV thing? It sincerely rocks! On second thought, maybe a small Home Equity line-of-credit will get me a system I can truly be proud of,...what'cha think?
peace

I know you are just like one of those old dogs you just cant break. What ever makes you happy. All I have to say, if you try putting on to much stuff you end up with a garage full of stuff you have to resell after you not like it!
Speaking of "time to ride", it's almost April here in Michigan ( I know, everywhere else, too) and I love my brand new F-150, but when it comes down to throwing money into my truck or my Harley Road King right now, it's the bike hands down. Come on warmth! Ya HOOOOOOOOOO!!
