Can anyone tell me where the CPS is on the 2001 PS. I think I have read that its about at 10 oclock in the front of the motor.
I want to take it out and go to International for correct replacement. No problems yet with the old one at 90,000 miles but all the talk has me concerned enought that I think Ill replace it and put the current one in the glove box as a spare.
just above balancer and below water pump 10 oclock position. You may wanna get a new oring for the old one you are keeping as a spare while youre at it.
The deal you are looking for is the timing indicator pointer. Use a short extension and a 10mm 6 point socket. You will have to work it back and forth to get it out. There is an o ring to seal the hole and will be on the cps. Get 2 new o rings with the new part, one for the spare and one to replace the one you just took out.
