MPG Guage
I just purchased a 2001 F350 ( Built 8-04) Club Cab with a PS Diesel that has 90,000 miles on it. I noted over the last three tank fulls of fuel that the electronic MPG guage in the cab continually reads MPG of 23 to 26 when the actual is closer to 15 to 20 MPG. Any knowen causes or fix's for this . Thanks

You might have a performance chip if the computer reads much higher than actual. I just returned from a 1000 mile round trip and my MPG readings were always within .5 MPG of actual. 19.3 actual - computer read 19.8. That was with stock tune.

I had a chip put in my truck about a month ago and ever since then my computer has been reading about 22-23 MPG when I have actually been getting closer to 17-18. Before the chip it was always within .5 MPG. My "miles to empty" numbers are also reading much higher.
