Well I tried to hook up my rear ID or running light and now my right turn signal, right brake light , and cab brake lights do not work. And my hitch brake light now flashes with the turn signal.
Used a test light on all wires prior hookin up light. The brown wire lit the test light and did not flash with the blinker. I used a quick-splicer on that wire only and joined it with the power wire of the rear running light. The running light worked and never flashed with the turn signals.
No fuses or bulbs are blown. I removed the quick splice and the brown wire is still together, not severed.
I can't believe all of this happened by just touching the one wire that is still intact. Going to the dealer in the morning, gonna get reamed in the $$$ dept.
Thanks SoCal. Took it to the dealer and they fixed the problem. Said probably caused an arc when I spliced (did not disconnect battery prior) into the wire. They wired everything up and it all works. One minor problem, my "non-blinking hitch cover" now blinks with the right signal. It doesn't do it with the left. Not supposed to flash at all. But, considering everything, I'll live with that or remove the hitch cover!
