OK, so the speedo goes nuts and dies, on my '99 3.0l 5 speed, the CEL comes on. I pull a PO500 code (vehicle speed sensor), down to my local robber baron, er Ford dealer and $42 bucks later I got the VSS. Where does the thing go? Reading up, I guess it goes into the rear pumpkin, but this thing has a speedo-like square drive fitting in it. did I buy the wrong part?

The VSS is on top of the rear end, one electrical connector and a bolt. Not sure on the appearance.
