Just use the Motorcraft Premium Synthetic Blend 5w20. It's $1.82 a qt at Wal-Mart and you will not find one post that has anything bad to say about it. Most say it's an exceptional oil for the price.
That was not the question...... Motorcraft is fine oil but not available everywhere or desirable to everyone.
Both oils are owned by the same company but I believe the formulas and production are still different. In my opinion Pennzoil and Quaker State are both good and it would be really hard to determine which one was better.

I just noticed it was $1.82/qt this weekend, it was $1.77/qt before.
Pennzoil!!!! Dude, let me tell you something to try, take some motorcraft, mobil, castrol, whatever oil you want and rub some on your finger's,now rub some Pennzoil on your finger's,no comparrision's. I recently put castrol syn. blend in my new Scab because I couldn't find the pennzoil in the 5w20 blend or straight syn. I've purched a new mercury mountaineer since then so I will need 5w-20 for both,I am going to order what Pennzoil I want and run it. Seriously, try this test for all the non beleiver's and you will to see. Oh yea, amsoil has Pennzoil's regular oil ranked third or fourth, even when comparrion to synthetic.

That has now been changed, Beaches are now open after dark..
All of the big oil companys ( like Shell) market/build their line of products to a price point. Pennzoil is their top tier, followed by QS, then Shell and Wolfs Head on the bottom. The quality of the base stocks and additive packs follow the same pattern. Pennzoil is their top brand.
You're telling me Quaker State and Pennzoil are better oils than Shells Rotella T? You might wanna let out the word to about a million truck companies and drivers throughout the world. They seem to be pretty sold on a Shell Product.
I would not use pennzoil if you gave it to me. As a former service manager for a Ford dealership that used pennzoil in bulk when service was performed, it caused more upper end lifter type noise than I can possible tell you. Now as an independant shop owner I can't tell you how many cars that I have repaired upper end valve and lifter noise by removing the pennzoil from the car. I don't know how or why, I just know it be true.

The Rotella T is a fine product that is marketed at a different segment ( fleets, diesel trucking co's, and folks in the know ) than their mass market brands. Shell is aggressively going after market share now, and will finish 'sorting out' the retail products soon.
