Bronco ****ing oil
MY baby is doing bad. I don't know yet where the oil is comming from but one thing I do know is after running on Interstate for about two hours I open the hood and watch oil draining out of the airfilter box. Also leaves huge puddles on the street. Has a new pvc valve, that made it leak oil out the breather worse. I guess what I'm getting at is what do yall think is wrong with it, If the motor needs rebuilt how much does it cost to do it by myself and how much time would it take. Also could it be done with the engine in the truck? All your help is much appreciated.
If your getting oil in the air breather from the crankcase breather tube, it soundslike you have a serious blowby problem, may be stopped up oil return in the head? DW
Yup, blowby. Your rings are worn out (just like mine). That's why I'm moving up to a 351, more power and needs rebuilt anyway. Try a can of engine restorer for now. I was going through a quart of oil every 70 miles this winter(yes 70 miles), smokin out all the winter mosquitoes. I put in a can of engine restorer(silver can at Walmart), it stopped smokin altogether but still has a serious lack of power. It could save you a lot of money on oil until you get to your rebuild.
Roller rockers in the trucks started in 1994. Serpentine belts started just a year or two after yours. Mustangs had roller blocks earlier than 1994 I believe, but don't take my word on that one.
