hey guys thanks for the help in the past, but ive got one more for you. I was given a 1980 F-100 custom stepside by my parents 2 years ago. its got the 300 I6 in it and all the emissions stuff was gone when my dad bought it. my question is what should i do to get a good sounding exhaust on it with useing as much of the pipe that is already there? its got 2 1/4 on it now. i live in GA and it just turned old enuff to not have the emissions test done so im leaving off the cats. should i put headers on it ,ive been tolled to true duel it , or just the stock manidolid.i was thinking of the flowmaster 40. please help im at a loss.
I also have the 300 I6 and I bought my Bronco with a Magnaflow Muffler leading out to dual pipes in the back. Its quiet but throaty, if that makes sense. I makes it sound like a quiet v8. Overall I'm happy with it and I have only heard good reviews about it. But keep in mind I am still running all emissions (including 2 cats).
Hey Bigger, how far back from the 2nd cat is the muffler? I thought about getting this set up but wasn't sure how long i should leave between the 2. Is everything else stock? Like manifolds and cats?

Okay, sorry about this, I feel really dumb now. When I bought it (a couple weeks ago) the guy told me it was megaflow, I assumed he was trying to say magnaflow, so I went with that. I guess he really meant that it was "aftermarket". So I crawl under there to take the measurements, and I notice that it says flowmaster, so I blink a couple times and yup, it still says flowmaster. Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused. Any questions about this one, I will be happy to answer what I can. If anyone is still wondering, the cat flange is 9" apart from the muffler flange. If anyone needs pictures of anything, I'll be happy to take them. Like I said earlier, sounds good, not the loudest, but definantly not stock.
