84 Ranger part(s) needed.

Hey, y'all. New member here. I have an 84 Ranger with the 2.8 L V-6. I had to put new heads on it about a year ago, and have slowly got it back to fairly good running condition. Here's my problem.. This truck is apparently very sensitive to cold/rainy conditions. It will not run smoothly in these conditions until it is thoroughly warmed up. It is supposed to have a shroud around the driver's side exhaust manifold that preheats carburetor input air. Someone has removed this in the past. It is made of at least two pieces of sheet metal. I have been able to find the inside piece (Dennis Carpenter) but cannot locate the outer piece that actually has the nozzle to connect the flexible duct to the air cleaner. Can any one help??? Thanks for any responses.

You might have to do a junk yard search for the heat stove parts. Are you sure the cold/rainy symptom is not a hairline crack in the distributor cap?

Thanks, Ranger Pat. I didn't go into any detail on my original post regarding my efforts to date to find these items, but here is a summary.

The various used parts search sites (car-part.com, etc.) online often don't have a category that describes these parts, but I have tried all I can find that allow a description.

I have also searched these sites for "exhaust manifold", then phoned those yards that replied ( there were many) to see if they had the "heat stove".

I have the Ford P/N and have searched through PartsVoice.com.
Ford dealers no longer stock these items.

I have phoned/visited yards in Forsyth, Guilford, Brunswick, and New Hanover counties in North Carolina.

I had the truck to a local mechanic (25- years Ford dealership experience) who advised me about the need for the shroud. He has had personal experience with the problem, even when these vehicles were fairly new.

I will take a close look at the distributor cap, but it is fairly new and not likely to be the source of the problem.

I'm really hoping someone will have one of the trucks (or Broncos of the same vintage/engine) parked in the back yard or field that can help me out here.
