DSB Results

Got my call from Ford this week 2 weeks prior to my DSB hearing; they reviewed my paper work and documentation I filed and offered me a new truck or buy back my 03. Went to the dealer today and told them what I wanted. A check of inventory found no X to my specs but a look at what was on order gave a perfect match. It is in transit and will be here by next Friday. In my dealings with the entire process everyone I spoke with was nothing but nice and wanted me happy. Has anyone gotten this offer PRIOR to a DSB hearing? I got what I wanted with minimal headache/ other than the03 X was cursed. Good Luck to all who go through this,I hear this can be a horrible experience.

Congratulation, if at all possible please take the time to make a list of all you have learned and all you did to accomplish this event. Do include the very smallest to of details; you never know what or who made the diffidence.

It s very important for all of us to learn from, again thanks in advance.

I actually had a similar occurence with my 02 Ex buy back...
nothing in stock or on order that I wanted... and I wasn't going to settle for what was there....

my only grief was in the "discussions" about the mileage charge and the MSRP difference... both of which were probably justified, but heck I didn't plan on replacing the vehicle @ that time...

I didn't feel that I should pay 5K to fix "their" problem....
so after displaying my "concern" to them multiple times, they relented and gave me the 2500 milage waiver and another 2500 credit toward offsetting the MSRP diff from the 4x2 7.3 to the 4x4 6.0 Limited...

and when I saw the new 4x4 still dirty from the delivery I knew it was the one !!! and jumped on it....

And have had a GREAT April build truck for 22K miles !

There is some that will say if you disconnect the bats for anything less than ten hours it will not clear the computers "brain." I have a relative good source that if you want to clear it completely go for 24.

I am not computer engineer...........so

This will get some flames

That is a bit long, but if those with more background than I suggest it, I have no problems leaving the battery disconnected from a Saturday evening through a Sunday afternoon. I will admit, 24 hours will clear any memory bank. That's for sure...

I'd also like more details. Maybe a quick summary of the problems you had?

Problems typical with early 6.0s; Diesel in oil(alot) stalling, low power, cotinued extended stays in the shop/ one trip was 32 days.water in fuel light continually on. Smoking, stinking, surging delayed transmission engagement. those are the high points. I documented every trip and conversation, kept every piece of paper.I never yelled cussed or acted like a jerk. I just remained open minded and listened to everything they had to say;gave them everything they requested.
They offered the new truck with no mileage charge and swap the collateral on my note. I just wanted my truck right, nothing for free, just stand behind thier product.
Good Luck, and thanks to everyone who helped me, you guys are great.
