I just used my Diablo Sport for the first time. It has made a great improvement. I am curious about the ability to modify the shift. I am looking for recommendations on this. I am currently programmed for the 60 HP range. I will be towing around 7500 lbs and would like a little quicker shift. Should I modify or leave as is? thanks
Good question, I use the same program, and went to firm shift just because I like the feel a little better, I also read a thread saying it was better for the trans in firm shift, so decided to try that one. Whatcha pullin?
I am pulling a mac lander trailer with a 4500 lb stump grinder on it. When you set the firm shift, did you have to reinstall the 60 hp setting. I have already put the 60 hp setting in. How do I modify the shift? Did you notice a big difference when you adjusted you'rs?
On my pred. there is a option once you begin after choosing the 60hp mod, to modify parameters. You then choose the transmission shift mod and it gives you normal, firm, or hard. I chose the firm shift, and it then goes and changes that along with the rest of the modifications during installation. It made a big difference in my shifting, it just feels like a more complete shift now where the stock kind of drug out, I guess that is how you describe it. I read a post where someone suggested that it decreased the wear of the plates in the trans when it completed the shift earlier, so I was in
Have you noticed any strange noises underneath the hood since you loaded you're predator? When I am at about 2500 rpms and the tranny shifts to OD I hear a loud moan, sounds like its coming from the Turbo. Only last for a second then disappears. Does it when Im hauling or when I kick it down to pass. Any ideas?
Most of my stutter comes when the turbo spools down for some reason. I have not really noticed a moan, I run the 60hp mod with firm shift. I switched to the 85 once, but thought that was a little too much after taking her around the block. I have the wicked wheel on the way as soon as they get some in, a mod that is suppose to take care of stutter from the turbo, and hope to get it in by next weekend. I really don't drive mine hard unless a Dodge pulls up!
Bucky, as you will more than likely hear many, many times here, Stay away from K&N, unless of course you like dust and dirt in your turbo. I personally want to keep it nice and clean in there.
Mike
It is a replacement wheel for your turbo, that is a fix for surge/stutter with your stock turbo. I run a K&N filter and have not really had any problems with it, I check the intake regular since I live down a dirt road, a good dusty South Carolina dirt road. I will eventually change my intake to Tymar or something when I get the time, but for now I like my K&N.
