More bad news.I used too much force on the bolt that holds #4 cop on and snapped the head off of it.It is sticking up about 1 inch, what can I use to get it out?

Are you pulling our leg!??!

Are you serious?! Step away from the vehicle, drop your tools and go drink a beer!! Well I guess bad luck is better than no luck at all

No,Im not kidding but I wish I was.My luck has to change because it can't get any worse.Any ideas on how to get that broken bolt out of there, you know there is not much room to work.I will win this war with this truck if its the last thing I do.

Well, I don't know how big the bolt is but if you don't have enough room to get a stud remover in there then maybe you could take a center punch and put a punch mark in the exact center of the bolt and then drill a 1/8" hole in the center about 3/16" deep. Then of course you will need a "screw extractor" or an "easy-out". Providing that the broken bolt is big enough around, you should be able to do this.

oh one more thing, if you have full coverage on the truck, just burn it dude. It will save alot of headaches for ya!

Dude! For your own safety, put yourself in protective custody, RIGHT NOW!

I'll bet you don't bother with the lottery this week

If you have a Dremel tool, or RotoZip with attachments, you can cut a beefy groove in the head of what remains of the bolt, then back it out.

The easy out is a better method though.....

Oh.....by the way.....the inside of the throttle body and intake have a special coating on them.....you aren't supposed to clean them......with or without a toothbrush!! In fact, there is a sticker right there that says so!

I would agree with AegisSailor put your tools down and step away from the vehicle and call a tow truck and have it fixed.

cutting a slot in it, is a good ideal, take your time doing this . you have 1 shot at this, pick a screw driver, look at the blade, that is the size slot you want cut, not a big blade mind you, but if can try using a pair of mini-vise grips[not cheap knock-off's] soak in 10w40, clamp down very, very tightly, use a 1/4-3/8 wrench to turn the vice grips . do this very slowly, be sure to apply equel pressure when doing this. good luck.

yeah sounds like you're having a string of bad luck. I'd take two steps back, call a tow truck, and pay the price of having a techy fix it for ya. Easiest way to relieve your stress. But if you do decide to keep wrenching, keep the toothpaste, dental floss, and any other hygiene equipment away from the engine

Well I removed the fuel rail and took some of the hoses back in there and tied them back where I could see what I was doing.I really was getting fed up with the problems I was having so I didn't care what happened next.I called the Ford garage and the mechanic said the only way to get the broken bolt out was to heat it so I lit the torch and went to work.I got the bolt out, retapped the hole, put the cop back on,and the truck is completely reassembled and purrs like a kitten. The #1 spark plug had burnt plastic on it and I would say that is the easiest one to get to if I have more problems.I want to Thank every one for there suggestions, and for those guys knocking me and saying I should quit and drop the tools,well...You don't know me very well do ya????

Well it didn't take long for the truck to start missing again,my kitten isn't purring well.I pulled the #1 spark plug and it was coated with burnt plastic from the toothbrush. My local ford Man told me to keep running it and it will eventually burn out of there. How long do you think this will take?I just keep pulling the plug and putting a clean one back in.It definitely makes a difference for awhile.

this piece seems to be hung up in the intake valve, what would worry me , is that as it melts, and you shut the engine off, the intake valve is open, the plastic hardens, in the opening, then you start the engine, you could bend a valve. i'm not saying this will happen, just a thought.
