72 torino fuel gauge problem

could you give me a little more info-connecting to what,the sender, behind the dash, if the gauge does not work right what is it doing or not doing. i have sent alot of time behind the dash of my 73 mach I so mabe i can help some.

the fuel gauge has 2 wires on the back of it. if i were to connect one to sender and one to the pos wiill that work. i also noticed that when u connect a pos wire to one terminal a pos charge will come out the other terminal. is this normal thx for replies
