Additional tranny filter

Any body buy one of those additional automatic tranny filters?
I'm looking at buying the one offered in diesel site too. They really seam to have their act together. My concern is were do u install it and how long did it take. I was thinking about installing it on the back of the transmission or have any of you installed it in the front of the truck. Any advise? Also if you have pics could you please share. Thank you for your time.

I'm not sure I know which filter you're referring to, but I've installed a Magnefine tranny filter on mine. It's mounted inline in the hose leading to the tranny cooler.
Am I on the right track, or are you talking about something else?

Quadzilla, I want to purchase a filter kit much like my oilguard that has a filter in it. Ive seen the magnafine but wasn't really interested in that one. My biggest question is on the transmission you have two lines coming out in the back. One on top and one on the bottom, which obne of theese is the out line and which one is the in line. I want to connect to one of theese lines and put on a filter system like your coolant filter system. Mike at diesel site has one that i really like and thats the one i want to install. Any advise.

What tranny are you looking at?

On the 4R100, the fluid out to the coolers is the line coming out of the front of the tranny. The return (tranny in line) from the coolers goes to the rear of the tranny.

My DCX tranny has top and bottom lines.

Does it make a big difference which line you tap into? I'd think that tapping into either one would filter the ATF during it's cycle outside the tranny and would give the same net result. Is there an advantage to one line over the other?

Just wanted to make sure i was clear on everything. How hard was it to install your magnafine, and where did you install it.

I put the Magnefine in the line leading to the Tr-Cool tranny cooler, right behind the grille. Easy to get to when it's time to change it.
