Has anybody wired the lights on the dually wheel wells so that they flash with the directionals? Seems like it would be fairly easy but I could be wrong.
I've been wondering about this for a while. To get them to flash brighter, like how your tail/brake lights do when you signal, would require running an additional wire to them, from the front signal lights unless you wanted them to illuminate with your brake lights, and replace the lamps with ones with two filaments, like a 2057 bulb or similar. This would be hard. The other way, where they go off when the turn signal illuminates, and come back on when the signal light flashes back off, involves moving the ground hook up to the marker lights .I can't remember how to do it. The principal is the same as the front side markers on GM cars and older trucks, they alternate the side markers with the signals in this manner. Have you ever been following another vehicle at night, and when it hit its brakes, one tail light goes out, and one brake light goes on? That vehicle had an improper ground, causing the running light to go out when the brake light came on. You can intentionally cause your running lights to do this if you find someone how knows how to hook it up. I'll look into it, I've wanted my front side markers to do this for a while. If there's an other way, someone post it, or if someone knows HOW to do it the way I described, I'd love to hear it.
Wire one side of the light to the blink side wire and the other to the parking side - do not ground the light. The bulb uses the filament for ground in both cases, but when both are hot (turn signal & parking lights on) the light goes off opposite of the rear turn signals. No special items needed, did it to the front marker lights next to the turn signal on mine - looks factory.Any questions, drop me a line.
