Looking to replace my wife's Camry with an Explorer.
How do you like the V6 or V8 and AWD or 4WD?

If it were my choice - 97 and up 4 door, V8, AWD. The gas mileage difference is minimal between the V6 and V8, so bette rto get the extra torque and power. Unless you plan on doing some offroading where you might need the 4WD low side, I would get the AWD. I haven't been in Ohio in the winter, but I'm sure you get some snow and other hazardous weather. The AWD is great in snow.

By your title, I assume that you don't know that the explorer only starting offering the 302 in 97.

I have a 95 with 4.0 and have had great service.

 

They were also available in the 96's....

The 96 and early 97's were a different 302 setup than the late 97's and on...
